Donald Gene Adams, 74, of Bellaire, passed away at his home November 27, 2020.
He was born in Dermott at St. Mary’s Hospital on July 2, 1946 to the late Glen and Audry Mae Adams.
Mr. Adams was farmer for 55 years. He retired in 2019. Don was Farm Family of the Year for Chicot County in 1980 and 2008. He served as treasurer of Dermott Gin Company and Chicot County Coop board member.
Mr. Adams was an avid turkey hunter and deer hunter who loved his Colorado hunting trips with his long time hunting buddies. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church for 65 years, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school director and on numerous committees.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Adams of Dumas.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Kaye Adams; son, Stan (Missy) Adams of Bellaire; daughter, Dina Adams (Juan) Flores of Largo, Florida; sisters, Glenda (Don) Donaldson of Hope, and Delores (Mike) Livingston of Bellaire; brothers, Charles (Wanda) Adams of Collierville, Tennessee and Kermett (Brenda) Adams of Fresno, California; sister-in-law, Cissy Adams of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Hannah and Tate Adams of Bellaire, Gabe, Jack and Graciana Flores of Largo, Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with be held Monday, November 30 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Devember 1 at 2 p.m. at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating.
