Doris Faye Lowery, 89, of Star City passed away on November 23, 2019 at her home.

She was born on July 10, 1930 in Calhoun County to the late Vernon Preston and Mary Dove Calaway Jones.

Mrs. Lowery was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Star City and a retired meat wrapper for Kroger. She was a past member of Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado; loved baking banana nut bread for the community and making pepper jelly; and she was a regular helper with local blood drives and the Bulldog breakfast.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Oscar Kramer Lowery and a son, Keith Lowery.

Survivors include a son, Dudley (Marcia) Lowery of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Sue Ann (Rex) Roark of Star City; a grandchild, April Smith of Alabama; a great-grandchild, Elizabeth Smith of Alabama; and a great great-grandson, Ezra Smith of Alabama.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, at First Baptist Church in Star City with Bro. Marcus Rogers officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Hampton.

Pallbearers are Tom Roark, Turner Roark, Tre Roark, Glen Edward Dunn, Alan Buckley and Chris Willis.
