Doris Rowe Norton, 86 of Randall (Cleveland County) died January 23 at Gardner Nursing Center.

She was born September 6, 1927 in the Holly Springs community near Rosston and was the daughter of the late Garland and Ilene Franks McKissack. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Star City.

Also preceding her in death was her first husband, William Jewell Rowe; a very beloved daughter-in-law, Sandra Pickens Rowe; and a brother, Vaughn McKissack.

Survivors include her husband, John R. Norton of Randall; son, William “Bill (Brenda) Rowe; daughter, Sharon (Olen) Bates, both of Star City; brother, Jimmie Don (Christine) McKissack of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Sonya Peterson, Sommer Cook, Stephanie Burnham and Meredith Bennett; several great-grandchildren; and a host of very special friends and family.

Funeral services will be held January 25 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Star City with Bro. Kevin Herrington and Bro. Kenny Martin officiating. Visitation will be January 24 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.

A graveside service will be held January 25 at 3 p.m. at Waldo Cemetery near Magnolia.
