Doyle Sims, 82, of McGehee, passed away on February 8, 2016 in Little Rock.

He served in the Korean War, was a lifelong farmer, and served on the Riceland Food Board and Delta PCA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Sims was born on May 3, 1933 in Scott County and was the son of the late Arthur and Zula Jones Sims.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances Maddox Sims; brothers, Burl Sims and A.G. Sims; and son-in-law, Jim Gorrell.

Survivors include his son, Brad Sims and his wife, Stella of McGehee; daughters, Nena Sims Gorrell of Columbus, Mississippi and Connie Sims Moss of McGehee; brothers, Drew Sims and Norris Sims, both of McGehee; sisters, Eva Polk of Monticello, Becky Conliff of Monticello, and Rosa Lee Reynolds of Jackson, Mississippi; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on February 9 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, at 2 p.m. at Tillar Cemetery in Tillar, with Dr. Ed Balducci officiating.
