Drew County Justice of the Peace Orlando Jones will be a speaker at the Arkansas State Republican Convention on Saturday, July 28th in Hot Springs.
With more than 1,000 delegates and members from all over the state expected to attend, this will be one of the largest conventions in Arkansas Republican Party history, according to a news release from the Drew County Republican Party.
Jones, who represents District 1 on the Drew County Quorum Court, recently announced his move from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party. “There is still hope for our country but it’s not in taking from those who have been successful,” Jones said. “We the people can turn things around and our land can be healed again.”
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will be the keynote speaker at the Governors Dinner on Friday night preceding the convention. A group of 11 delegates and guests from Drew County will be attending the dinner and convention along with Jones.
