Citing his age and health, Drew County Judge Damon Lampkin has decided that he will not seek a sixth term. “I’ve served five terms and I think it’s time to retire because of my age and health,” Lampkin said.
Lampkin, 70, is a diabetic and has high-blood pressure.
During his five terms, Lampkin obtained numerous restoration grants to make improvements to Drew County’s 1932 courthouse. Also during his administration, voters agreed to renew a county-wide one-cent sales tax to improve the county road system.
