Three days after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine, a 21-year-old Drew County man was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill people at the Gee’s Landing area of the Saline River in Drew County.
Clifton Jolley, 21, likely will be charged with terroristic threatening, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor in connection with the July 26 incident, according to Lt. Tim Nichols, a criminal investigator with the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.
Jolley reportedly threatened to kill people then fired rounds from a rifle, Nichols said.
Deputies located Jolley in a wooded area where he was camping.
Jolley, who was on probation for possession of cocaine, was arrested and taken before Circuit Judge Bynum Gibson for a first appearance hearing. Gibson set Jolley’s bond at $10,000.
The case file will be forwarded to 10th Judicial District Prosecutor Thomas Deen for a charging decision. Information about the alleged incident has been provided to Arkansas Probation and Parole which could revoke Jolley’s probation, according to Nichols.
