Drew County Treasurer Charlie Searcy announced today that he will seek a second term in the Republican primary this May.
A 1985 graduate of Monticello High School, Searcy received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1989. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1993.
Searcy and his wife, Leslie Hollinger Searcy, director of case management at Drew Memorial Hospital, reside in the Barkada community. They have been married for 25 years and have three children, Morgan, 20; Abby, 17; and Matthew, 12.
Searcy is a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and the Monticello Rotary Club.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of Drew County as their treasurer,” Searcy said. “Helping ensure that the tax monies collected by the county are spent wisely and for the betterment of our citizens is a responsibility I take very seriously, and I hope to be given the chance to continue. I’d like to take this opportunity to ask everyone for their vote and support.”
