Drew County voters approved a proposal Tuesday to continue an existing 1.8 mill tax to refinance existing bonds to generate income to build and equip a new surgery center, a power plant to serve the hospital, and other capital improvements for the hospital, according to unofficial election results.

The unofficial results:

A bond issue for $1,250,000 to refund 2004 bonds, utilizing an existing and continuing 1.8 millage tax:
For – 495
Against – 242

A bond issue for $4.3 million for hospital improvements, utilizing an existing and continuing 1.8 mill tax:
For – 493
