Drew Memorial Hospital will hold its spring health fair on Friday, April 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the hospital’s Allied Health Building Conference Rooms.

“The spring health fair this year is a little bit different,” said Heidi Rosas, business development coordinator. “We are focusing on community education and engaging ways to spread health information to people of all ages.”

Activities will include free health screenings, vegetable gardening, tips for eating health in a restaurant, and an inflatable Mega Brain from UAMS that showcases the symptoms of stroke. The booths will be facilitated by hospital staff, hospital Auxiliary volunteers, UAM student organizations, and nursing students from both UAM and SouthArk in Warren.

Attendees may also take a guided hospital facility tour at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

“We are very excited to show off one area in particular,” Rosas said. “The Drew Surgical Specialists clinic is now open in the Allied Health Building, so we are ready to show it off to the public.”

The DSS grand opening reception will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in their location on the north side of the Allied Health Building. The Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. A free lunch will be available for all health fair attendees and an afternoon snack for community members who come by when lunch ends.
