E.O. Lenderman, 85, of Dumas, passed away October 3, 2020 in Dumas.

He was born in Yell County on August 23, 1935 and was the son of the late Arthur and Zeffie Lenderman.

His parents and two brothers, Leroy and Arthur Lenderman, Jr. preceded him in death.

E.O. was a lifelong farmer in Dumas. He was a member of Anderson Chapel Baptist Church and L&N hunting club. E.O. served in the Army National Guard.

Singing bass, he toured the Southeast as part of the ‘Delta Echoes” quartet. He loved God, his family, his herd of cows, and farming. In his heyday, he could be found at the Tyro Saddle Club riding or teaching his son and nephews to ride. He had a quiet, dry wit and always a song in his heart.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years Betty Lenderman of Dumas; a son, Calvin (Stacy) Lenderman of Dumas; two sisters Mary Gilbert of Longview, Texas and Lois (Charles) Milligan of Dumas, Arkansas; three grandchildren Mauri (Kenny) Riesenberg of Franklin, Tennessee, Meggan (Mike) Glass of Arlington, Tennessee and Dylan Bonds of Dumas.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, at Tyro cemetery, with Rev. Paul Gilbreth and Rev. Jason Cater officiating.

Memorials may be made to Tyro Cemetery, Delta Memorial Hospital or John McClellan Veterans Hospital.
