Cane Creek State Park will conduct eagle watch tours every Sunday afternoon in an attempt to observe a Bald Eagle, the majestic bird that captured the heart of our forefathers enough to be named the national bird, according to Cane Creek State Park interpreter Shane Boone.
“These marvelous creatures have many fascinating and unique habits that are there for you to see,” Boone said. “Ride in a temperature controlled vehicle as we tour down the levee that dams Cane Creek Lake and point out mature and juvenile eagles. The eagles are out and nesting along the bayou, though we will be respectful and view them from afar. Join us and discover the personalities of these special creatures of the sky every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.”
