Early voting begins November 20 for the November 27 runoff election for Drew County judge.

Voters may vote early on November 20, 21 and 26 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the County Extension Club Room on the bottom floor of the Drew County Courthouse. On election day, November 27, voters will cast their votes at their regular polling site from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Since the Monticello Christmas Parade will be held on election day it could impact Ward 4 voters who vote at the First United Methodist Church on South Main Street. To avoid the parade traffic, those voters may access the church from the East Jackson entrance or they may vote early at the courthouse on November 20, 21, or 26.

Voters will decide who they want to serve as their county judge for the next two years. Robin Hood, the Democratic nominee, was the leading vote-getter in the general election but it was not enough to avoid a runoff with the independent Robert Akin who just received the endorsement of the third-place finisher Republican Jessie Griffin.

The winner will replace County Judge Damon Lampkin who decided not to seek re-election.
