Edith Scott Phillips, 77, of Crossett, formerly of Hamburg, died on February 17, 2018.
She was a 1958 graduate of Hamburg High School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. Mrs. Phillips worked as a loan officer and vice president for 12 years at First State Bank. She retired in 2003 from the Crossett School District after 23 years of service and she sold Avon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for many years and was involved in the Prayer Room Ministry. She was also a member of the Ashley County Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary for 10 years.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Millard E. Phillips; her parents, Aubrey D. and Trudy Wigley Scott; two brothers, James “Jim” Scott and Louis Aubrey Scott; and two sisters, Betty Maxwell and Martha Kelley.
She is survived by two daughters, Julie Phillips Vaden and husband, Tim, of Crossett and Joni Phillips Krisell and husband, Tim; a granddaughter, Meredith Brooke Krisell all of Mablevale and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Monday, February 19 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Crossett with Rev. Jamie Staley officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery.
