Edna Lee Linzy Nutt, 93, of Star City died July 4, 2014 at Gardner Nursing Home in Star City.
She was retired from Levi Strauss and she, along with her husband, were poultry farmers for many years.
Mrs. Nutt was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church near Star City where she taught Sunday School and led song services and was on the Star City Senior Citizens Center Advisory Board for many years. Mrs. Nutt loved to garden and sew.
She was born January 18, 1921 in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Floyd Pierce and Farrie Vermillion McGriff.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband William Thomas Linzy and her second husband, Greado Nutt; a son, Holland Linzy; great grandson, Michael McTigrit; brothers, Arthur McGriff, Hoyt Pierce, Ralph Braswell; and sisters, Beatrice McGriff, Carolyn Cummings, Emogine Reynolds and Irene Nowlin.
Survivors include, two daughters, Brenda McFalls (Keith) and Sandra Johnson (Ronnie); daughter-in-law, Marie Linzy; stepson, Billy Nutt (Barbara) all of Star City; six brothers, Buddy McGriff and Calvin McGriff of Star City, Jesse Braswell of Ward, Roger Braswell of Flintville, Tenn. James Pierce of Ragley La. Jimmy Pierce of Hazel Green Ala.; four sisters, Eva Cogbill of Pine Bluff, Peggy Brown of Lake Charles, La. Gladys Graves of Hazel Green, Ala. and Louise Mann of Warren.
Other survivors include 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held July 7 at 10 a.m. at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bros. Thomas McGriff and Earl Lindsey officiating. Visitation will be July 6 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Drake Cemetery near Star City.
