Edward Lester Walser, 97, of Crossett, passed away on June 12, 2016.
He was a pipefitter for Georgia Pacific and a sergeant in the Marine Corps, having served in the South Pacific during World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. Walser was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Walser was born on March 11, 1919 and was the son of William Byron and Mary Sula Anders Walser.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Walser of Crossett; a son, Dennis Walser (Lena) of Bentonville a daughter, Alice Schneider (Martin) of Cabot; a grandson, Dr. Brandon Walser (Rachel) of Cabot; two great-grandchildren, Claire and Lucy Walser; one step-grandson, David Turner and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on June 15 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Crossett with Bro. Jamie Staley officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Visitation will be held on June 15 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Crossett.
