Elda Fratesi Floriani, 88, of Russellville, formerly of Lake Village, passed away on January 2, 2018.
She was born February 2, 1929, in Indianola, Mississippi and was the daughter of the late Amelia and Pacifico Fratesi.
Mrs. Floriani married the late Joe Floriani, Sr. on July 1, 1951 in Indianola, Mississippi. She worked for more than 60 years as a secretary in Lake Village for different funeral homes. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village and St. John’s Catholic Church in Russellville. She was involved with CYO for many years. Mrs. Floriani’s friends and family were her love and joy.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Floriani; brothers Larry Fratesi, Phillip Fratesi and Joe Fratesi; and sisters Mafalda Mangelardi and Judy Labella.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Gilliam of Russellville, Julie Floriani of Lake Village, Joe Floriani Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and Randy Floriani and wife Wanda, of Malvern; a sister, Mary Fratesi Braslow; a brother, Paul Fratesi and wife Connie, both of Indianola, Misssissippi; grandchildren, Glenn Gilliam and wife Vanessa of Hot Springs, Mark Gilliam and Andrea Gilliam both of Russellville, Leslie Lum and husband Matt of Meridian, Mississippi, Mandy Doyle and husband Bart of Monterey, California, Jonathen Floriani and wife Cassie of Friendship, Jason Floriani and wife Heather of Malvern, Josh Floriani and Amelia Floriani both of Malvern, and Ashley Hickman and husband Scott of Little Rock; and 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be Jason, Jonathen and Josh Floriani, Mark and Glenn Gilliam and Zachery Young.
Visitation will be held at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village on Thursday, January 4 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. with rosary starting at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 5, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Henry Mischkowski as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Isidore Cemetery.
Mrs. Floriani’s family wishes to extend sincere thanks to her caregivers Mark Gilliam, Andrea Gilliam, Pam Garcia, and Billie Dean Harris.
