Elise DuBose Courson, 85, of Crossett, passed away on December 2, 2015 at Ashley County Medical Center.
She was a member of Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, crocheting, playing cards, and visiting her friends. She had various careers throughout her life, including working at the Crossett Health Center, the Crossett and Hamburg nursing homes, and at City Hall.
Mrs. Courson was born March 9, 1930 at Ingalls and was the daughter of the late James Henry and Carrie Powell DuBose.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Scott Herman Courson; one son, Chris Courson; grandson, Scott Alan Courson and a grandson who she raised, Coby Courson; four sisters, Leta, Rena, Oma, and Ollie; and two brothers, James and Bobby.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Courson and wife Jean and Steve Courson and wife Shelia all of Crossett; one daughter, Scottye Courson of Hot Springs; one grandson, Dan Courson and wife Rhonda; three granddaughters, Amanda Culp and husband Jason, Jenny Strebeck and husband Ryan, and Hannah Gallucci and husband Anthony; seven great grandchildren, Brittney Pearcy and husband Jonathan, Justin Courson, Anna Claire Strebeck, Jacob and Jordan Culp, Cason Culp, and Blakely Strebeck; and one sister, Betty Murphy.
Funeral service will be held on December 5 at 10 a.m. at Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church, 116 E Church St., Crossett, followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery.
Visitation is December 4 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in North Crossett.
