Ellis Robert (E.R.) Henry, Jr., 90 of Dumas, passed away on February 15, 2018 in Monticello.
Mr. Henry was a member of First United Methodist Church. He served 15 years on the board of Riceland Foods, was named Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Young Farmer of the year, and was a charter member of Turner Neal Hunting Club. He also served in the United States Merchant Marines. He loved deer hunting and spending time at the deer camp.
Mr. Henry was born on April 26, 1927 in Dumas and was the son of the late, Ellis Robert Henry, Sr., and Carrie Jane Williams Henry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Irene Eidson Henry of Dumas; a son, Joe Henry of Little Rock; a daughter, Lisa (Ricky) Branson of Dumas; a brother, Sterling Henry of Dumas; two grandchildren, Ryan Branson and Karrie (Joseph) Nuckols; and three great grandchildren, Sawyer Nuckols, Tallulah Nuckols and Ivy Nuckols.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18 at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Dumas, followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., also at the church. Dr. Tandy Hanson will officiate the service. Interment will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Pickens.
