Ellna Adelaide Morphis, 95, of Star City, passed away August 26, 2020 at East Point Nursing and Rehab in Star City.

She was born July 10, 1925 in Carden Bottom (Yell County) to the late H. O. and Carrie Foster Smith.

Mrs. Morphis was a Baptist, a retired beautician and owner of Catfish Kitchen in McGehee. She was a member of Pine Bluff Quilt Guild and had hundreds of quilts of her own. She loved crocheting, sports and roses.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, O.T. Morphis; son, Johnny Morphis; brother, Bill Smith; niece, Paula Smith; nephew, Gene “Bubba” Reynolds and friend, Craig Towles.

Survivors include son, Tommy F. (Dawn) Morphis; daughter, Gerry Sue (Ed) Mosier; sister, Polly S. Reynolds; and five grandchildren, Ben, Elizabeth and Rob Morphis, Tammy (Danny) Clark, and Mark (Sue) Bettosini; several nieces and nephews, Cindy and Duke Fakouri, Willie and Sherry Smith, Donny Smith, Jimmy and Tammy Smith, Candy and Gary Hillis and Cristy Dunnahoe; and many great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 30 at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel. Masks are required in the building.
