Eloise Glover, 88, of Star City, passed away September 24, 2021 at Gardner Nursing Center.
She was born June 15, 1933 in Palmyra to the late Ural Elbert and Janis Marie Moore McBryde.
Eloise was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where she was the treasurer and played the piano for over 60 years. She was a receptionist for several doctors, including Dr. Petty, Dr. Coker and Dr. Mahta. She was also a faithful volunteer at Gardner Nursing Center for more than 25 years. Eloise also provided daycare for her granddog, Gizmo, for 14 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Virgil Glover, Jr., and two sisters, Methral Moore and Maurine Hughes.
Survivors include her son, Bill (Paula) Glover of Star City, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 27, at 10 a.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Hilburn officiating. Visitation is Sunday, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Paul Moore, Elbert Owens, Bob Parker, Jacob Glover, Pat McCurry and Thomas Fish. Honorary pallbearers are Leroy McBryde, James Hankins, Harold B. Moore and Steve Moore.
