Emmie Kinnaird, 69, of Hamburg, died December 5, 2013 at the Life Touch Hospice House in El Dorado.
Mrs. Kinnaird was a native of Jones, La. and a resident of Hamburg for 55 years.
She was a former Hamburg School District employee for 39 years having worked as a bus driver, cafeteria worker, cafeteria manager and Hamburg Schools Child Nutrition Director for 33 years. She was the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce Woman of the year in 2001, a Charter Member of Ashley County Cares since 2005 and a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, former Ashley County Judge, Larry Kinnaird; her parents, Harvey & Paralee Petty Crenshaw; two sisters, Shirlene Pruitt and Marion Barthol, two brothers, Henry Ferrell,and Boyd Crenshaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Shields and husband, Steven, and Tammy Streeter and husband, Randy; her special companion, Jim Woods; three grandchildren, Drew Shields and wife, Jodi, Shelby Streeter and Skyler Streeter; a great-granddaughter, Mady Shields, all of Hamburg; two sisters, Katherine Basso and husband, Mike, of Sumter, South Carolina and Patricia Wells of Slidell, Louisiana; two brothers, Robert Crenshaw of Little Rock and Joe Crenshaw and wife, Kay, of Bastrop, Louisiana; a brother-in-law, I.V. Barthol of Jones, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held December 8 at 2 p.m. at the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Reese and Bro. Norman Higginbotham officiating.
Burial will be in the Extra Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charles Ray Summerland, Julian Bayless, Bobby Miller, Norman Higginbotham, Damien Moyers, Jarrod Bowen, Greg Smith, Stan Haynie and Ryne Haynie.
