Ethyle F. Jones, 89, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Crossett, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at her home.
She was born on May 6, 1931, to John and Lou Ellen Egerton Fife in Strong, Arkansas.
She lived most of her life in Crossett and was a member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. For many years, Ethyle worked at the Chase Bag Company and Georgia Pacific. In her free time, she enjoyed taking trips to the mountains, working in her yard tending her flowers, and spending time with her family at their river camp.
Ethyle was a devout Christian who was perfectly happy staying home and working outside. She loved her church family and had a very close relationship with her siblings, but she especially loved her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, James “Buddy” Fife, and one granddaughter, Corinne Michelle Garrett.
She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Billy F. Jones; and one son, Gerald Garrett, and wife, Sandy, both of Jacksonville, Florida; three sisters, Mavis Love of northwest Arkansas, Bobbie Kay Childers and husband J.W. of Crossett and June Noble, of Crossett; a brother, Gary “Shorty” Fife and wife, Lynn of Crossett; two granddaughters, Siobhan McCracken and Elyse Gonzalez of Jacksonville, Florida; and three great-grandchildren, Persephone Alice, Pandora Koralin, and Phynn Garrett McCracken.
