A Eudora man was sentenced to 50 years in prison Tuesday after an Ashley County jury found him guilty of  second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.

Erskine Flamer, Jr., 24, was convicted of fatally stabbing 25-year-old Deunte Stanley in the chest with a steak knife. The stabbing occurred on July 21, 2019 at the Pine Street Park in Hamburg.

Flamer was sentenced as a habitual offender to 50 years in prison for the murder and three years in prison for tampering with evidence. The two sentences will run concurrent.

At the time of the fatal stabbing, Flamer was out on bond after a previous arrest for two counts of breaking or entering and one count of theft of a firearm.
