Eugene Hamilton, 85, of Warren, died on June 19, 2018 at his home.

He was born on May 25, 1933 at Godfrey Place in Bradley County and was the son of the late Horace Hamilton and Verlee Clanton Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton graduated from Vick High School in 1951. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954 before serving in the Army Reserves and the Arkansas National Guard. He was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Warren and served on the Hermitage School Board for 15 years. He retired from Potlatch Inc. after 33 years of service. He was a former SOLVA board director, the Southeast Bradley County Water Association, the L”Aigle Creek Conservation District Board and he was an active member of the Bradley County Cattlemen’s Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Sharp; a brother, Danny Hamilton; and a grandson Brent McDougald.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Mitchell Hamilton; two daughters, Jeannie Fawbush (Ron) of Godfrey Place and Tammi Nowlin of Monticello; two sisters, Betty Trussell and Virginia Temple both of Warren; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Ashcraft (John) of Rison; a brother-in-law, Charles P. Mitchell (Sarah) of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Brian McDougald of Alvin, Texas, Laura West (Jason) of Warren, and Shai Brann (Clifton) of Fort Smith; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 22 at 2 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren with Rev. Rocky Goodwin and Rev. Ruel Cruce officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Union Hill Cemetery.
