Everett Fay Pounds, 74, of Hamburg, passed away on July 8, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1959 and was an active member of the Hamburg First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Pounds was preceded in death by his parents, John Everett and Abbie Virginia Golden Pounds; two brothers, Jack and Johnny Ralph Pounds and a sister, Betty Sue Chapman.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen Chapman Pounds of Hamburg; a son, Mark Pounds and wife, Kim, of Lake Village; two daughters, Michelle Pounds and husband, Hammett Evans, of Bryant and Nancy Jo Pounds of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Gwen Fischer of Hamburg and Frances Gosnell of Garland, Texas; a grandson, Johnathan Pounds and several beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on July 11 at 2 p.m. at the Hamburg First United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Comer officiating. Visitation is after the memorial service in the fellowship hall of the church.
