Area educators will celebrate Arkansas Children’s Week Saturday, April 16, with a Family Fun Festival in Monticello.
The festival, open to pre-kindergarten through fifth grade children and their families, will be held at McCloy Park from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
There will be interactive learning stations where children can learn about firetrucks, farm animals, horses and wildlife, bicycle safety, motor vehicle passenger safety, how to make snow, be physically fit, eat healthy, and remain tobacco and smoke free. There will also be arts, crafts and many other activities such as bouncy houses, inflatable slides, and an obstacle course.
There will be hundreds of door prizes, free books, and a free family photo, as well as free hot dogs, juice and healthy snacks.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The event, made possible through partnerships, sponsorhips, donations and volunteers, is free.
