Monticello is experiencing flooding, fallen trees, and some structure damage from the Tuesday night storms that ripped through Southeast Arkansas. A Monticello girl who was shocked when a transformer blew appeared to be OK, according to Monticello authorities.

A Monticello dispatcher said the girl was checked out on the scene and appeared to be OK.

Meanwhile, the area is seeing quite a bit of flooding, some fallen trees and some structure damage. Authorities are currently assessing the damage.

High winds tore the metal roof off of Kelvin Ridgell’s home on Winchester Road. Ridgell said he wasn’t home when it happened.

“I wasn’t there,” he said. “I drove in and it was all over the yard.”
