The husband of a Fort Campbell soldier from Hamburg is facing homicide charges after he allegedly shot her and left her body in a bathtub at a Clarksville, Tenn. apartment complex.
Witnesses reportedly told Clarksville police that Shardae Wright, 23, was trying to get away from 21-year-old Nicholas Rico Durant when she ran into an adjoining apartment. Upon seeing Durant point a gun at Wright, a witness ran to get help and then heard several gunshots, according to a news release from the Clarksville Police Department.
Durant reportedly fled in a white Dodge Charger and subsequently was arrested by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to the Associated Press, Wright had been in the U.S Army since 2010 and was assigned to the 6-101st Aviation Battalion, 101st Airborne Division. Durant, also a soldier, was assigned to the same division.
