Frances Burks, 75, of Hermitage, died on August 28, 2017 Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.
She was a retired elementary school teacher at Hermitage, a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she earned her teaching degree, and a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Johnsville
Mrs. Burks was born January 18, 1942 in Pine Bluff, and was the daughter of the late Ell Morris and Martha Jane Jackson Morris.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Burks; brothers, Alfred Morris, Tony Morris and J.R. Morris; and a half sister, Flora Belle Whitaker.
She is survived by a son, Roger Burks, Jr. and wife Rhena of Memphis, Tennessee; two daughters, Angie Ferrell and husband Eddie of Godfrey Landing, Arkansas and Tasha Stuart and husband Deon of Decatur, Illinois; a brother, Billy Joe Morris, Scott City, Missouri and a sister, Bernice Lackey of White Hall; eight grandchildren, Jill Ferrell, Leann Parker and husband Jeffery, Katie Ferguson and husband Travis, Josh Burks and wife Samantha, Jacob Burks, Jonathan Burks and wife Olga, C. J. Stuart and Cydney Stuart; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 31 at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren. Burial will be at Moseley Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30 at Frazer’s Funeral Home.
