Franklin Stanley, 74, of Hermitage, died May 18, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
He was a farmer and worked in forestry. He was a member of the Moro Bay Baptist Church and a graduate of the Hermitage High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved playing music with his friends.
Mr. Stanley was born on October 20, 1940 in Bradley County, and was the son of the late Grady Stanley and Ruth Colvin Stanley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Sherry Layne Stanley; two brothers Durell Stanley and Kenneth Stanley; and three sisters Mayselle Rainey, Ethel Pope and Lenora Castellow.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Whitehead Stanley; a son, Kerry Stanley of Hermitage; a brother Ray Stanley and wife, Evanelle of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Leslie Huitt and husband Matt, Brandon Stanley, April Bagley and husband John, Chad Stanley and wife Leslie, and Travis Stanley; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on May 22 at 10 a.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren with Revs. Wayman Mann and Joe McCellan officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Linwood Dees, David Dees, John Bagley, Brandon Stanley, Chad Stanley, Travis Stanley, Matt Huitt and Sam Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Gayle Jackson, Dan Jones, Kent Measel, Johnny Bob Waterfield, Roger Smith, Sam Russell, Joe Curres and Men of Moro Bay Baptist Church.
