Gail Morgan Robinson, 74, of Lake Village, passed away December 2, 2020, from respiratory failure as a result of Covid-19.

She was born October 18, 1946, in El Dorado to Orie Felton and Martha Monte Morgan. She was married to Ken Robinson, who preceded her in death in 2013.

Gail spent her life singing, leading, and loving on people. Her singing started when she was only 5 years old, entertaining for the American Legion, and continued through college as Gail entertained with the Centenary Choir. As an adult, Gail’s music turned into praise, worship, and inspiration as she led music in New Hope Baptist Church and Bayou Mason Baptist Church and sang with the trio she loved, “Trinity.”

She earned the title of “Mama Gail” as she led children in church and community choirs and vacationed and loved everyday life with her beloved grandchildren. She kept that “Mama Gail” title with her tennis league as she captained teams for over 30 years.

And as far as “loving on people” that was a full-time commitment with her family. The kids now from all generations remember Mama Gail’s Dirt Cake at Christmas, the microphone she held in their little faces during the Christmas program, and the “give me some sugar” requests she made to each of them. And as all her friends and family know, her ordinary life events turned into hilarious tales of adventure which kept everyone in stitches.

Gail retired from a career in teaching high school level business courses at Junction City High School, Ross Van Ness, and Lakeside High School. Her teaching career was perfectly suited for Gail’s heart for serving, entertaining, and guiding young lives.

Gail is survived by her son, Clifford Randolph Evans and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Evans and grandchildren, Shelby, Tristan and Liam Evans; her stepdaughter, Stephanie Robinson Vetrano and grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth and husband, Colton, Katherine and great-granddaughter Laureli; and sisters, Theresa Morgan Meldrum, Sharon Morgan Tahaney and Angelena Morgan; and brother-in-law, John Meldrum.

A walk-through viewing will be held Saturday, December 5, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. Please join us celebrating her life Sunday, December 6, 2020, at 2:00 pm for an outdoor service* at Bayou Mason Baptist Church, 723 Airport Road, Lake Village, Arkansas.
