Gregoria Garcia of Monticello, a freshman criminal justice major at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, has been selected to attend the 2012 UALR William H. Bowen Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program. Garcia will join a select group of 20 students from around the world who were chosen based on the strength of their personal statements and academic backgrounds at the three-week residential summer program which takes place on the UALR Bowen School of Law campus.
The program teaches scholars important fundamentals of law school success, gives insight into the admissions process and prepares them for the law school admissions test. The purpose of the program is to increase the number of law students from historically underrepresented groups. PLUS students will interact with law students, faculty, judges and local practicing attorneys.
