Sheena Garrard will seek the Ward 1, Position 1 seat on the Monticello City Council, according to a news release announcing her candidacy.
Garrard’s news release:
I, Sheena Garrard, am officially announcing my candidacy for Monticello City Council, Ward 1 Position 1. I look forward to representing everyone in Monticello fairly. I will run an uplifting campaign, one in which I will show the community my integrity and plan for positive improvement for our great city.
First: I believe community involvement should focus on the furtherance of equal opportunities for all citizens regardless of race, creed or culture. Second, I want to move our community forward by implementing effective programs that highlight areas of engagement between citizens and the city council. We must listen to the community to make real effective change in our education, health and public safety institutions.
I am invested in the development and growth of our community. As I continue to advocate for families in Monticello I would appreciate your vote and support in November.
