Gary Wayne Miller, 71, of Monticello, passed away on July 10, 2020, in Monticello
He was born on July 11, 1948, in Monticello to the late Robert Lee “Tobe” Miller, Sr. and Mildred Bonez Gunn Miller.
Mr. Miller was a retired welder and welding inspector for the pipeline, a Christian and longtime member of Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He was a workaholic. He just worked, worked and worked on a daily basis but also enjoyed meeting with his buddies at the coffee shop. He always kept his yard, vehicles and home in an immaculate manner. He was a devoted husband, father and papaw.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, R. L. Miller, Jr. and Leo Miller; and five sisters, Joan Miller Herring, Elouise Gregory, Vivian Johnston, Marcell Clary and Eddie Stout.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary Louise Burton Miller of Monticello; a son, Jason Wayne Miller of Monticello; a daughter, Terrie Miller Christoph of San Antonio, Texas; a grandson, Stevie Christoph of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Roger Miller and wife Sandra of Monticello; along with several nephews and numerous friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery. A come and go viewing will be held Monday, July 13 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
