Gary Williamson, 60, of Montrose, died May 31, 2015 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.
He was a native of Lake Village and a life long resident of the Mt. Pleasant Community, east of Hamburg. He was a tractor mechanic and shop foreman for Scott Equipment for many years.
Mr. Williamson was also a farmer and a member of the Montrose Fire Department where he served as fire chief and was member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was well known for his barbecue.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Nancy C. Williamson in March of this year, and his parents, Edward and Muriel Royal Williamson.
He is survived by a daughter, Bridget Williams and husband, David; a son, Scotty Williamson all of Crossett; a brother, Johnny Williamson and wife, Nita; a sister, Mary Jo Burns and husband, Booster, all of Parkdale; three grandchildren, Seth, Cloe and Cady Williams and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held June 3 at 10 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bros. Ronnie Garrett and Keith Ladd officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Gene Cupit, Jason Cupit, Taylor Spaulding, Derik Williamson, Franklin Ricks and Tommy Frazer. Honorary pallbearers are J.C. Williamson, Dewel Williamson and the members of the Montrose Fire Department.
