Gay Youngblood Gladden, 75, of Monticello, passed away on July 11, 2017 at her home.
She was born July 19, 1942 in Drew County and was the daughter of the late Ray Youngblood and Mattie Gibson Youngblood.
Mrs. Gladden had more than 30 years’ experience in accounting and administration for a variety of businesses, last working for Union Bank and Trust Company where she retired. She was previously employed at Commercial Bank as head bookkeeper, the University of Arkansas at Monticello financial aid office/fiscal affairs as accountant II, and David Dearman and Associates, LLC as office manager. She was a very organized and resourceful person and was a quick-learner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Parrish Gladden.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Gladden of Monticello; one son, Kim Gladden of Monticello; one daughter, Lisa Gladden Smith of Monticello; one brother, Lyrkie Youngblood of Dumas; one sister, June Brixie of Monticello; and one granddaughter, Hope Hutchinson and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Nazmae.
A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenny Worbington officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery. Family visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
