Gene Weast, 78, of Star City passed away on January 4, 2018 at his home.
He attended First Assembly of God Church in Star City, was a veteran of the National Guard, was a retired construction worker and ringman and was a member of Woodmen of the World.
Mr. Weast was born in Pottsville to the late Roy and Edna Satterfield Weast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Weast, Dooley Weast, Huley Weast and Irvin Weast.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Rauls Weast of Star City; a son, Michael (Paula) Weast of Star city; a daughter, Carol (Bruce) Brown of Sardis, Tennessee; three brothers, Kenneth Weast, Roger Weast and Jerry Weast, all of Star City; a sister, Betty Lou Gates of Star City; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Kasey) Weast, Danielle (Brandon) Robertson and Lauren (Jason) Williams; and five great-grandchildren, Ty Socia, Kendall Socia, Joslyn Robertson, Abigail Weast and Olivia Weast.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Howell and Bro. Don Borland officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hickory Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers are Starsky Weast, Hutch Weast, R.J. Weast, David Rauls, Chris Weast and Brad Weast.
