Geneva Sue Roberds Brown, 88, of Monticello passed away on August 2, 2017 at her home in Monticello.
She was retired from Burlington Industries and was a caregiver.
Mrs. Brown was a loving, caring woman who loved doing for her family. She had a kind and gentle spirit and was loved by many people. She will be greatly missed by all. Most importantly, she was a Christian serving her church faithfully. She loved the outdoors, gardening and fishing.
Mrs. Brown was born on January 1, 1929 to the late William Roy Roberds and Laverta Howard Hopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ray Brown; a daughter, Lillian Ray Brown; a son, James Richard Brown; two brothers, Marion Roberds and Junior Hice; three sisters, Betty Erwing, Irma Ruth Holdcraft and Margaret Hice.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel Brown of Monticello and Jerry Brown and wife, Debbie of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; a daughter, Saundra Kay Edwards and husband Johnny of the Florence Community; a sister, Myrtle Barnett of Monticello; eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on August 4 at 10 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Burial will be on August 4 at 5 p.m. at Sims Cemetery in Mt. Ida.
Visitation will be August 3 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
