Gerald “Buddy” White, 84, of Hamburg, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
He was a 1953 graduate of Fountain Hill High School and a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. White worked for the Arkansas Highway Police for 10 years and was the owner and operator of the DX Gas Station in Hamburg for a number of years. He served on the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, was a member of the Arkansas Cattlemen Association, and a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Lois Oliver White.
Mr. White is survived by a son, Chuck White and wife, Janet of Hamburg; his former wife and best friend, Mary Ann White of Hamburg; a sister, Sylvia Alldread of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Colby White, Emily Berryman, Nik Wood and Jeremy Graves; three great-grandchildren, Cashden White, Rhett Berryman and Kynnlee Graves and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Gene Gregory officiating. Burial will be at the Flat Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Colby White, Nik Wood, Jeremy Graves, Drew Moffatt, Kirby Bonds, Ashton Jones, Josh Pierce, and Jim Burt Gulledge. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Skender, Mike Richard, Johnny Pierce, John Bostick, Stan White, Shelby Scott, George Vestal, Lon Hogan, Claude Riley, Jr., Bobby Griffin, Jeff Myers, Johnny Lee Hampton, Greg Gifford, Sonny Holland and Michael Oliver.
