Gerald Wayne Gladden, 75, of Monticello, passed away on January 12, 2018 at his home.
He was born on March 12, 1942 in Hamburg to Jewell Jordan Hargis and the late Delton Gladden. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gay Youngblood Gladden; a son, Parish Gladden; and a sister, Susan Herring.
He was a retired pipefitter with 706 Pipefitter Union where he was employed for many years before working for Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home for ten years. He was a member of Florence Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Kim Gladden of Monticello; one daughter, Lisa Gladden of Monticello; his mother, Jewel Jordan Hargis of Monticello; two brothers, Billy Gladden and Dennis Gladden both of Monticello; one granddaughter, Hope Hutchinson; and two great grandchildren, Avery and Nazmae.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 14, at 2 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home. Visitation is at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Union Ridge Cemetery.
