Glen Hayes, 66, of Montrose, died on December 16, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Hayes was a native Dermott, a resident of Montrose for the past 18 years and a former resident of Lake Village for many years. He was a 1970 graduate of Lakeside High School and was a superintendent for Ideal Construction for 18 years. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Ruby Griffith Hayes.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beth Brooks Hayes of Montrose; two sons, Michael Hayes and wife, Tisha, of Lake Village and Bradley Hayes and wife, Felicia of Montrose; four brothers, Johnny Wayne Hayes of Fredonia, Kansas, Ricky Hayes of Austin, Texas, Rodney Cockrell of New Athens, Illinois and Tony Hayes of Magnolia; one sister, Tammy Hayes of Ridgeland, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Allen Hayes, Molly Hayes and Lee Hayes and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 18, at the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg with Bro. Phillip Payne officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
A private burial will be at the Montrose Cemetery.
