Glendon Gene Harvey, 76, of the Griffith Springs community in Lincoln County, passed away on October 9, 2018.
He was a retired contract electrician and the first person at UAMS to receive the Z-Fen Graft, a procedure to treat an aortic aneurysm.
Mr. Harvey was of the Church of Christ faith and was a Christian man with a multitude of friends and family. He will be remembered for his caring heart and loving smile that lit up the room. He was a member of Griffith Springs Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Harvey was born December 30, 1941 in Clovis, N.M. to the late Earnest and Myrtle Harvey.
Survivors include his wife, Dorthi Jean Holloway Harvey of the Griffith Springs community; three sons, Jeffery Glen (Annie) Harvey, Shawn Mitchell (Sissy) Harvey, all of Star City, and Steven Shea (Tanya) Harvey of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kimberly Harvey of Pine Bluff and Brandi Mechele (Yancey) Rhoden of Madison, Alabama; two brothers, Ricky Harvey and Gary Harvey; a sister, Cheryl Harvey. all of Clovis, N.M.; 13 grandchildren, J. Sheena Harvey, Jared Jett Harvey, Drue Harvey, Lance Harvey, Jessica Ahrens, Danielle Cheek, Bri’ Amber Hoyt, Brandon Hamby, Chase Harvey, Holly Szabo, M’Leah Harvey, Dalton Alan Rhoden and Calli Jean Rhoden; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Star City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12 at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Drake Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chase Harvey, Jett Harvey, Dalton Rhoden, Lance Harvey, Drue Harvey, Michael McNeill, Calvin Holloway and Chris Ahrens. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Huckaby, Claude Holloway and Frankie Long.
