Gordon R. Carter, 58, of Monticello, formerly of Eudora, passed away on November 5, 2015 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved doing for and visiting with is family. Mr. Carter’s life was farming, fishing and hunting.
He was born October 3, 1957 in Lake Village and was the son of the late Earl Carter and Lois Hayes Carter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Ouida Lindsey Carter of Monticello; two sons, Timothy Russell Carter and wife Tobie of Monticello and John Carter and wife Whitney of Dermott; one daughter, Tonya Carter Smith and husband Jeff of Hamburg; two sisters, Mary Lois Brown of Bull Shoals and Linda Lambert of Dermott; eleven grandchildren, Cody, Erick, Alana, Dylan, Logan, Hayden, Lucas, Jace, Hannah, Kayley and Rylee; one great-grandchild, Drake; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on November 14 at 1 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel in Monticello. Visitation will be held November 13 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
