The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Arkansas increased Tuesday to 230. Two people, both from central Arkansas, have died and nine have recovered, according to the Arkansas Department of Health update shortly before 6 p.m.
Calling it the “calm before the storm”, Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Arkansas is still on the “front end of the COVID-19 emergency.”
Hutchinson is asking the General Assembly to begin its special session to address budget issues on Thursday. “This is important to make sure that we can continue to meet the essential needs of state government during this emergency health crisis that we have,” he said.
