Gracie Faye Hamilton Woolverton, 80, of Star City, passed away on June 23, 2020 at Gardner Nursing Center.
She was born on September 1, 1939 in Mt. Home (Lincoln County community) to the late V.O. and Loice Womack Hamilton.
Mrs. Woolverton was a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Star City High School, and enjoyed cross stitching. She and her husband lived in Germany for several years when he was in the Army.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded her in death by her husband of 40 years, Jerry Paul Woolverton; an infant son, Dennis Ray Chastain; and infant twin sister, Nettie Fern Hamilton.
Survivors include her cousins, Sallie Irene “Sister” Burr Sanders and William “Nephew” (Theresa) Sanders of Star City, Byron (Marian) Pharr and Deborah (Billy) Winders of Monticello, and many, many other cousins and extended family in Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at the Mt. Home Cemetery near Star City with Bro. Jason Goodwin officiating. Visitation is 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Only 50 people allowed in funeral home at one time and masks are required inside the building.
