The Great SEARK Talent Hunt Showcase featuring the finalists from seven counties in Southeast Arkansas will be held Saturday, April 24, at 2 p.m. at Cotton Boll Stadium on the University of Arkansas at Monticello campus where they will compete for the grand prize.
The finalists (winners from each county talent hunt) competing for the grand prize are Chester Huntsman – Ashley County; Gwendolyn White – Bradley County; Rev. R.C. Barnes – Chicot County; Wayne Gross – Cleveland County; Desha Three featuring Kaniyah Davis, Azaria Campbell and Houston Holley – Desha County; Mark Kelly – Drew County; and Braden Hunter – Lincoln County.
The judges are Christian singer/songwriter David Leonard, Fox 16 newscaster Donna Terrell, and American Idol contestant Ryan Harmon.
The event is sponsored by Commercial Bank and Union Bank.
In conjunction with the event, there will be two bonus concerts the weekend of April 23-24.
Monticello native David Leonard (formerly of All Sons & Daughters) will perform Friday at 7 p.m. by Weevil Pond. The Rodney Block Collective (professional jazz musician and UAM alumni) will perform on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on the UAM Football Field.
Both of these shows tee up the Talent Showcase which begins at 2 p.m. on the football field.
