“The Wonder of the World: The Botanical Art and Natural Science Illustrations of Janice Neill Dean” will be on exhibit at the Guachoya Cultural Art Center in Lake Village from April 15 through May 26.
A reception for the artist, Janice Neil “Honey” Dean will be held on April 21 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The reception is open to the public.
Dr. Dean, president of the Delta Artists Association, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi where she earned degrees in art and English, and Delta State University where she received a doctorate in Education.
Since her retirement in 2007, Dean has concentrated on her career as a botanical artist and natural science illustrator. A member of the American Society of Botanical Artists (the only Mississippi member) and the Jackson Watercolor Group, she shows her work at Montage Marketplace and Lagniappe in Greenville, and Spectacles Gallery in Jackson.

Dr. Dean lives near the Ross Barnett Reservoir in Rankin County, Mississippi.
The Guachoya Cultural Art Center is located at 1652 Hwy. 65 & 82 South in Lake Village. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. For information call 870-265-6077.
