The 49th annual Hamburg Armadillo Festival will be held this week on the Hamburg town square. The festival gets underway with carnival armband night on Wednesday, May 1 at 6 p.m. and concludes Saturday night, May 4 following performances by the Cummins Prison Band, Haley Creek Boys, Barrett Pepper and ThumpDaddy.

Activities include the armadillo races, a carnival, street dance, live bands, food, arts and crafts, 5K/1 mile run, Crawfish & Karoke, Pachanga night (Spanish music and food), a pancake breakfast, Armadillo Trivia, a pet show, frog jumping contest, and other activities.
