A Hampton man was killed early Tuesday morning in a vehicle accident on U.S. 278 in Bradley County.
Benjamin O. Travis, 56, was traveling on U.S. 278 when his eastbound Dodge Dakota crossed the center line of the highway and across the eastbound lane of traffic. The vehicle then ran off the highway and continued down a steep ditch embankment, overturning, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report.
The accident occurred Tuesday at 7:57 a.m. The weather was clear and the roadway was dry.
At least 432 people have died as a result of accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary figures.
